Build Description

This build contains one or more skills that have been changed because of skill updates. This may cause an increase or decrease in the build's performance, so check the skill descriptions carefully. If this is your build, editing it will remove this message.

This build really shines in PvP or in PvE where mobs cluster often.

In PvE

Switch out Hypochondria for Epidemic.
  1. Wait for mobs to cluster and rush in.
  2. Crippling Slash, then Gash. Your foe is now bleeding, crippled and has deep wound.
  3. Use Epidemic to spread the conditions to all adjacent foes.
  4. Knee Cutter nets you some energy and adrenaline back.
  5. Wail away.

In PvP

I like using psychology against people in PvP, because tanks and healers are so predictable!
  1. Run to a healer/caster and attack. This will usually get an enemy tank's attention. If nobody comes to the rescue, just keep tearing the caster apart and ignore steps 2-4.
  2. Switch your target to the closest rescuer and dump your conditions with Crippling Slash and Gash.
  3. Switch back to your original caster target and immediately cast Hypochondria. Now, your caster target suddenly has three nasty conditions (and no clue of how this happened).
  4. Be ready to counter any condition removal with Savage Slash, or simply save it to counter heals, as you should now have enough adrenaline stored to reapply conditions.

The rescue tank you targeted midway through the process and to whom you gave all the conditions is probably still crippled, and generally won't be able to back up his caster buddy anymore.

Notes

  • PvP healers always look out for themselves with condition removal and healing. Keep the conditions up by spamming your attacks, and re-use your Mesmer skills to keep pressure on multiple foes. This puts your foes into reaction mode instead of in planning mode -- usually meaning their defeat.
  • The Mesmer skills are unlinked, cheap and fast to cast, with the aforementioned bonus of being rather surprising, especially when coming from a tank.
  • Consider bringing both Epidemic and Hypochondria into PvP matches, for versatility.
  • For Heroes using this build, swap out Hypochondria for Epidemic.
