Build Description

This build contains one or more skills that have been changed because of skill updates. This may cause an increase or decrease in the build's performance, so check the skill descriptions carefully. If this is your build, editing it will remove this message.

This is a pretty striaght forward build to use.

Usage

Always have kindle arrows on. My typical follow up on attacking is dual shot, savage shot, prepared shot, by now you've probably dished out a ton of damage and they're running away. If neccisary use distracing shot, but I normally save these for casters and inturupting healing skills and res attempts. Make sure after somebody dies you tab around a bit and look for res attempts.

Weapons/armor

This build requires a bit of weapon switching, all will need a +30 handle of fortitude. You will need a Vampiric short bow (for maximum damage), a Zealous shortbow (use this against casters, expecially monks :) A recurve bow with armor penetration (for straffing targets) and a Sundering longbow (for running targets). You will need a +2 rune for expertise, for marksmanship +1 head rune and a +3 major rune, and a +2 rune for wilderness survival. You will only have 400 health, but with some armor mods and lighnint reflexes, and a 9 pip troll ungent, you will be fine.

Tactics

This build is capable of killing casters very quickly. With an organized team all attacking the same target you can sometimes kill somebody before they get a chance to heal. Use prepared shot whenever you can, it will supply you with a limitless scource of energy. Like this, you will never run out of energy. Remember to switch tagets when a protection skill goes up.

What to watch out for

Becuase of its low health, this build is succeptible to degen. When this happens, remember to switch out your vampiric bow and use Troll Ungent. I suggest using Troll ungent right before you enter a battle. Save Lighning reflexes for sins expecially and other rangers. Blind can kill, if you are blinded dont waste your energy. Heal and kite while you wait for your skills to recharge.

Skill switches for different uses

For alliance battles I would switch res signet for Pin down, and if you preffer you could switch Lighning reflexes for Whirling Defence. Somepeople prefer Whilring defence because it lasts 8 seconds longer. Also, you can switch distracting shot for forked arrow for a ton of damage only a true spike ranger can provide, though this is a bit of a gamble in pvp. Good luck to you!
