I like the concept... however, i think you could output more damage with different skils... for example, you can knock off a lead and an offhand attack by just using Golden Pheonix strike as the opener because you are enchanted with Spirit's Strength. Opens up a skill slot too.
since you have 5-6 enchantments on you at all times... you only need 3 points in Earth Prayers. You will still get your +10 HP regen cap.
note the use of Ether Sig and Sig or Recall for that energy management... this build basicully shows the use ability of the Fast Casting line and MoR to make a Mesmer Primary version of a Booner Monk... I am sure the healing would be fine at the early stages of the game for somthing diffrent with a mesmer... but your right, I wouldnt recomend a build like this verse lvl 28 groups.
I would flip it to P/W and put in Awe since you are knocking them down. Other then that, nice build.
I know you mentioned the energy via the Insignias and all... but that still a lot of energy useage... you'd be out of energy by the 5-6th spell... I would suggest maybe taking the points and skills out of Illusion and placing them in either Soul Reaping or Inspiration to counter this problem. Other then that, the pairings of the skills is good... just way too expensive energy wise.
Yup I do know the skill very well... this is actually my 42nd build on this website...
Ya, slow down thing is a problem... however... the Wavebreakers from Gates to the Ettin cave were not a problem... a slow stroll, but not a problem.
And yes, Disenchanting would be bad for this build... which is why right now, I would not recommend it from running through the Dwarves around Yaks... but everywhere else from Ascolon to Sanctum you should be fine... for those areas, i'd switch the secondary to somthing else... Ranger or Sin.
I can see why SoS is being used for Thrill of Victory... however, I think you would be better off with Soilder's Strike less wasted space for that... however if you wish to keep ToV, I would go with what Luminoth said, Endure Pain... mostly because the HP will stay up for longer, and less cool down.
Other then that, i like the concept with the Life Sheath :-)
I have been seriously thinking about good old "Watch Yourself!" which would help Soilder Strike and make it unblockable... but, yes i know that Healing sig would get disabled for a little bit... but in PvP, I use both and Lion's only when in dire need... it give ya a combined 267. But in PvE where you r with a team and some Monks in the group, ya i would think about dropping Lions for "Watch Yourself!" or some of the other I and you mentioned.
Luminoth: More enchantments for Symbiosis to get you over the 3k mark
Also... I changed the build from Rit to Derv... more Enchantments = More HP...
My question with this build is... where is the Enchantments? You have 2 Skills that are a great match with enchantments... but, there isn't one enchantment skill in the whole build...
Quote: "You have 5 energy, there's a moving foe near death that none of your attack skills can really hit high enough for one shot kill, you can't use your preparation to inflict bleeding because you are low on energy and low on time"
Well first off, you would be better off making expertise 10+2, Marksmenship 11+3 and 10 in Wilderness Survival... that way you have less waisted points (Beast Mastery), your 10 energy skills would cost 5 energy for you to use Pent Attack/Sund Attack and your Preperations and Troll Ungent would last longer...
The other thing is Determined Shot is a good skill for long recharging skills, but the most used skills are no more then 5 seconds... so using Sund Attack, or even Savage Shot to carry an interrupt would be better... personal preference really...
Not bashing ya though mate, just trying to help ya out and make you a better killer :-)
The lead attack was just to cause crippling with a little extra damage to pervent the target from moving away...
I like both of those points... Thanks for thoses...
I added in the Armor, but Critical Defense could be used as well and can be renewed... I went with armor becuase I think it would lower more damage then Defenses over time (unless you are dealing with a lot of melee).
I put the Lotus skill in as an option, becuase Critical Strike would be a free skill and cause an auto Critical which renews 1-2 skills
That and 2 of the skills cause Bleeding... so you a preparing a skill attack that already causes Bleeding?
I would replace hunter's shot of a condition removal or defense or healing... being this is a PvP build.
I agree, I was looking at this build earlier and was trying to figure out the runner part if you have Armor of Earth... if you wish to conintually move fast and worried about defense, use Armor of Sanctity. It is a cheep enchantment to compound Mystic Regeneration, and since you are constantly burning foes, you get your damage reduction... and like Darth said, more point distribution that can raise your Energy Storage a little more.
I tend to agree... espicially the fact that this build is classified as a PvP build... I dont understand how it can be a PvP build considering 1, it is a shutdown Mesmer dream build... 2, there is no Energy Management... and 3, there is no healing... One of the biggest things I have found in PvP is the fact that you need atleast one healing skill or condition removal skill...
Yes that would do more damage... however, the Enraging Charge is not in there just for the movement, but the quick Adr gain for all the other skills... and to stop the slow movment of flail if needed... that and energy use of Star Burst is scary... could be 5, could be 20... and Savana Heat would push foe away from you out of the trouble area (AI)... so yes the would do more damage, but then you run into energy and scaring away foes from the tank.
This is just one build for a person part of a team... this particular person's job is to keep constant degen pressure on the target... it would be the job of the Elementalist to pound the damage from there. If you look at the build, there is no healing spells... so this is a portion of an entire team build.
I would agree however with Flame Djinn's Haste as a possibility for a different skill with being, i feel, better then Inferno (slighty less damage for a run like skill) but again, I like Dragon slash to keep pounding Adr attacks into the Target (like Standing Slash). You could easily with flail to Standing Slash, Dragon Slash and then Staning Slash again. But that me, I am more Adrinaline based for attack (see my other builds)... but I agree that FDH is a skill that could be toss in there.
Thats up for debate becuase you are limiting your energy by trying to upkeep the 2 healing spells... so I rather carry a cripple to cancel out the negative to Flail, and cause Bleeding to use Gash... Personal prefference.
Personally, I prefer a Sword/Shield... becuase the damage you deal is a little more reassureing. Sure a Scythe and Axe will deal more high end damage, but it will have a chance to deal lower damage then a sword as well...
Sword with Vow = 25.38 - 31.02 dmg Scythe with Vow = 12.9 - 57.81 dmg
(note: before other modifires like customize, strength and lvl differences)
So as you can see, the Sword will give you more consistant Damage. Twice the Minimum of a Scythe, but half the maximum of a Scythe... Also, personally, I like to carry a Shield for the Devotion/Endurance Handle (+45HP while enchanted/stance) for more HP and more armor. But all and all, its really by prefference... A warrior with a Scythe would look preety cool, however, you would have to lower attribute points in Strength in order to use a max scythe
The reason I put mending on there is so you dont have to keep casting... the build only has 15-20 energy and really just ment to passify the monk... one of the monks in my Clan when we go PvE does carry VS, so in actuallity, the Warrior has all 3 on him at the same time.
TY Mate :-)
ya again, I like to set things and forget it :-p, but you are right, PS would be better for less upkeep costs and being hit 5 times would be enough to recast it and you would gain more energy then loose... so I take you up on that one :-)
Those are good points, and I do sometimes use Vigorous, but with Live Vica, you can just set it and forget it...i'd have to play around with BR/FT, I am more of a Flail guy myself (ex. Anti-Tank), but i would have to play around with that, thanks for the input ;-)
